Under general supervision, provides a wide variety of moderately complex laboratory testing and technical lab support for a research facility.  Requires knowledge of the processes/procedures in testing, documenting experiments, maintaining laboratory notebook, analyzing data, and reporting using complex statistical computer software.

Specifically, this position coordinates and supervises the daily operation and upkeep of the zebrafish facility (feeding zebrafish, stock breeding, monitoring water conditions and colony health); Assists zebrafish facility users with routine operations and experiments; Acts as a specialist on laboratory methods and equipment functions; Provides technical lab support by performing complex laboratory and research related tasks;
Assists in training laboratory personnel and graduate students in research techniques and laboratory equipment maintenance.

This position is not grant funded.

This position will work Monday-Friday; 8am-4:30pm-depending upon research needs position may require working beyond normal business hours.  


Bachelor's degree in related field of Science required;
2-4 year's research lab experience


Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

Understanding of research methods, laboratory techniques, and care of laboratory equipment;

Ability to interpret data, troubleshoot and resolve technical issues;

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite to include Word, Excel; PowerPoint and Outlook;

Detail oriented;

Analytical skills;

Strong work ethic, excellent written and communication skills, and the ability to work independently;

Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays depending upon research needs
