What is Creighton Arizona Health Education Alliance? In 2018, Creighton University, Dignity Health St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center, Valleywise Health, and District Medical Group, Inc., formed a strategic partnership, which led to the Alliance’s creation. It manages Residency and Fellowship programs previously managed by each partner. By doing so, the Alliance became one of the Arizona’s largest providers of Graduate Medical Education, with an exciting opportunity to play a major role in the area’s health-care landscape. Creighton University and its stellar Health Sciences programs serve as the academic partner.

Job Summary:
The Student Operations Manager for the Creighton University Arizona Health Education Alliance serves as the the primary point of contact to facilitate student clinical training activities for all students at Alliance sites. In addition to working with medical, nursing, and allied health schools, the Student Operations Director, will partner with leadership among Alliance clinical training sites to monitor student capacity and streamline student onboarding and reporting. Reporting to the Alliance Executive Director, the Student Operations Manager will and directly supervise four site-specific student coordinators.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
Provide operational and organizational structure for all student coordination among Alliance Member sites.

Proactively partner with Alliance Member leadership to establish communication and reporting strategies to maximize student clinical education experience and maintain adequate capacity for learners and faculty.

Serves as the primary point of contact with schools to establish workflow and oversight for agreements, rotations, student schedules, etc.

Work with student coordinators within the Creighton schools and other institutions that send students to Alliance Partner teaching sites.

Collaborate with Alliance Member leadership to ensure comparability among sites and standardize processes.

Maintains active listing of preceptors for all student types in a variety of specialties. Facilitate identifying clinical experiences outside of Alliance Members when needed.

Manages all Master Agreements between schools and Alliance Members.

Partner with direct reports to identify opportunities to streamline, operationalize and improve internal processes. Ensure collaboration, establish clear roles and responsibilities. Provide support to student scheduling coordinators

Consult with on-site student scheduling coordinators to strategically determine student placement and capacity.

Foster collaboration between teaching sites. Work closely with Academic Chairs, Department Chairs, Clerkship Directors, Site Directors, and administrators.

Develop robust monthly and annual projection reporting mechanisms for student volumes.

Represents the Alliance in a variety of forums, including leading or participating in special projects, participating in medical center initiatives, or planning processes, and responding to ad-hoc requests for assistance.

Serves as the facilitator for the resolution and implementation of operational issues across multiple cross functional departments. Provides leadership in and fosters a culture for new practices or new technology that promotes efficiencies and improves systems or processes.

Compiles reports and presentations suitable and as requested for the Hospital and Leadership Medical Groups, Alliance Board, and other external audiences as needed. Executive Team, Joint Venture Committees, Board presentations, and other external audiences.



  • Bachelor’s Degree or above preferred
  • 5 years of progressive experience in academic or student affairs particularly in scheduling and data analytics, is highly desirable
  • Successful, demonstrated Project and/or Program Management experience desired
  • 3 + years of successful people management experience. Strong collaborative teamwork mindset to lead, educate, mentor, motivate and inspire staff. 
  • Proficiency skills in MS Office Suite to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook

Experience with developing and implementing program ideas into successful strategies.

Must be self-directed and can work with a diverse group, with multiple and challenging priorities, and to exercise confidentiality and diplomacy always.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills including written and verbal, problem solving, diplomatically handling problems of a sensitive and/or confidential nature

Superior organizational skills

Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Excel, Adobe Acrobat, and the use of databases, is essential.

Commitment to providing excellent customer service
