The Specialist, Programming and Outreach works in partnership with and reports to the Director of the Creighton Intercultural Center. The Specialist, Programming and Outreach is integral to the development and implementation of cultural programming for undergraduate, graduate/professional students, as well as employees of Creighton University.

This position plays a central role for enhancing the university experience for students, faculty and staff in the Creighton Intercultural Center as well as for the university itself. The role is responsible for identifying, collaborating, developing, organizing, and participating in the implementation of programming designed to create a more inclusive institution that aligns with the university’s and division’s stated vision and mission. A primary expectation is the collaborative development, implementation, and coordination of equity, diversity, and inclusion programming and outreach to Creighton students and employees, as well as the Omaha community.

  • Execute year-round programming initiatives that build community and engagement amongst Creighton stakeholders (e.g., students, faculty, staff)
  • Coordinate, and deliver relevant programmatic initiatives for students using feedback from undergraduate, graduate and professional students.
  • In concert with the Director and other Divisional professional staff, serve as a liaison, support, and resource for the planning and delivery of programming (e.g., cultural events, responses to local/global events) led by student groups.
  • Work with CIC Director to provide leadership development opportunities for the Cultural and Identity-based student organizations served out of the CIC.
  • Executes signature programming for the Division of Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion programming. (Belong Events, BlueOut, etc.).

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree with emphasis in Higher Education, Social Work, Education, Student Personnel Administration, Psychology, Human Resources, or related field required.
• 2+ years equity, diversity, and inclusion programming experience required. Work experience in collegiate settings preferred.

• Excellent written and verbal communications 
• Passion for creating equitable organizational environments and for serving students.
• Commitment to the ideals of Jesuit education 
• Strong computer and technical communication skills
• Willingness to participate in night and weekend activities as needed.
