Creighton University is looking to hire a Simulation Technician to work in Omaha, NE. The simulation center utilizes multiple high-fidelity human patient simulators, task trainers, medical infusion pumps, cardiac equipment, simulated ventilators, and ECG machines. This position also serves as a liaison between simulation educators, third-party vendors, and Creighton IT services to ensure the proper functionality of all simulation equipment.

Responsibilities 

  • Simulation Program Support 
    • Serves as a liaison between third-party vendors, local IT support, and end users. 
    • Oversees the maintenance and functionality of all simulation equipment and software in accordance with best practices. 
    • Works with simulation educators to select appropriate simulation equipment, assists with operating/programing equipment to meet learning outcomes. 
    • Schedules repairs, upgrades, and maintenance in accordance with center schedules to ensure learner events are not disrupted. 

 

  • Simulation Lab Support 
    • Assist faculty and students with the set-up and execution of all simulation activities. 
    • Ensure availability of lab equipment and disposables as directed by simulation center guidelines. 

 

  • Simulation Center Office Support 
    • Maintains inventory of hardware and disposables. 
    • Assists in ordering of supplies and equipment relevant to the simulation center. 
    • Assists in the creation and updating of setup checklists and documentation. 
    • Assists in creating tutorial materials for faculty and staff related to the troubleshooting and operation of simulation technology. 

 

  • Product Research and Testing 
    • Researches new simulation technologies. 
    • Tests updates before center wide implementation. 
    • Stays current on best practices related to simulation technology. 
    • Ensure simulation center is adhering to University data and security standards. 

  

Qualifications 

  • Associates degree in related field and/or equivalent work experience. 
  • Experience within one or more of the following preferred: 
  • Experience supporting health science simulation activities 
  • Experience on supporting and maintaining technology 
  • Experience with higher education assessment technologies 
  • Certified Healthcare Simulation Operations Specialist (CHSOS) preferred.
