Reporting to the AVP for Finance, the Sr. Director of Budget, Planning and Analysis will summarize the financial results of the University and prepare presentations communicating those results for various levels of the organization including the Board of Trustees.  This position will continually evaluate the information presented to ensure it is consumable by the constituents and pursue opportunities to automate the delivery and preparation.  The Senior Director manages staff, collaborates with other finance personnel and works with other departments to gather the information necessary to inform the University of its financial position as well as opportunities for improvements and potential risks.  This position is responsible for the budget, forecast and month-end/year-end close processes.  They will coordinate inputs for the strategic plan and develops the financial model for the University as well as developing processes to track progress on the strategic initiatives.  The Senior Director will work with the AVP to develop and implement standard financial reporting and will provide to the AVP ad hoc analysis as interest and issues arise.


Qualifications:

Bachelors' Degree, Masters Degree or CPA preferred
6 + years' experience, 
Prefer minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in accounting or finance with budget monitoring and financial reporting and variance analysis included

Minimum of 3 years of managing staff

  
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
Knowledge of economic and accounting principles and practices, and the analysis and reporting of financial data.
Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership technique, and coordination of people and resources.
Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services.
