Senior Business Intelligence Analyst

Seeks ways to utilize technology to make office operations more efficient and effective. Plans and implements

technological strategies to meet the growing business needs of the Analytics and Institutional Research team.

Analyzes current data structures, develops best practice data structures for future analysis and reporting to

direct institutional strategy.


Works to maximize the capabilities of customer relationship management (CRM) system through integration;

performs analyses, identifies problems and solutions, makes decisions regarding best practices in data

structures, and evaluates results relating to the development, enhancement, and maintenance of database

management systems; creates auditing systems to ensure data integrity. This position is critical to directing the

strategy and measuring outcomes, while understanding the importance of providing data to build a culture of

data informed decision making.


Specifically, developing data structures and coding for reports related to the collection, preparation, and

development of reports needed for accreditation and institutional research. Data sets will include confidential

data at the person level, privacy is essential.


Training of unit level personal may be required to create efficiencies in sharing data for decision making.



Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, MIS, or Decision Sciences preferred supplemented with five-seven (5-7) years of related experience.


Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

Knowledge of administrative computer operating systems and terminology, specifically working knowledge of

database mining.

Knowledge of computing hardware/software applications and troubleshooting, and web-based applications.

Ability to create a vision for and develop dashboards to direct data informed strategies.

Experience working in university advancement, fundraising, or related field preferred.

Familiarity with CASE (Council for Advancement in Secondary Education) guidelines, standards, and reporting
SOL database experience.

Ellucian Advance Web, PowerBI, and Tableau experience preferred.
