The Resident Director (RD) is a (12) month, live-in, professional staff member responsible for managing the day to day aspects of a first-year or sophomore residence hall. This includes, but is not limited to, supervising and developing staff that as a team purposefully develop community and residents, informing residents about pertinent community news/announcements and support their engagement in academic and co-curricular pursuits and mediating roommate conflicts; adjudicating possible policy violations; providing administrative oversight for the successful provision of services; and meeting the needs of freshman students.


Additionally, the resident directors work together to provide leadership and direction higher education administration for Hall and Departmental Programs and Residence Hall Councils/Inter-Residence.


Bachelor's Degree Required; Masters' Degree preferred;

1-3 years’ experience in residence life/student affairs

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

Knowledge of residential facilities, services and programs of Hall Government;

Strong interpersonal/human relations/supervisory skills in relationship to college students;

Hearing: 75-100%

Standing/Climbing/Mobility: 25-49%

Lifting/Pulling/Pushing: 25-49% (pound: 15 lbs.)

Fingering/Grasping/Feeling: 75 – 100%

Travel: No
