Creighton University’s Department of Modern Languages and Literatures invites applications for a Resident Assistant Professor in Spanish. This is a one-year non-tenure track position beginning in August 2019. Candidates will teach undergraduate courses (4-4 course load) based upon experience and departmental needs. A Ph.D. in Spanish or relevant field is preferred. 

Initial interviews will be conducted via Skype starting in January.

Original academic transcripts from all institutions of higher education attended (photocopies acceptable during initial application process)
Three letters of recommendation, at least two of which speak to the candidate’s teaching ability sent directly to the Chair of Modern Languages, Dr. José McClanahan at jose@creighton.edu.
Statement of teaching philosophy

Qualifications:
A Doctorate or Master's degree from an accredited college or university;
A Ph.D. in Spanish or relevant field is preferred. 
2-4 years prior teaching experience

Ability to foster student learning, development, and decision making in support of their goals, success, wellness, and needs;
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to develop rapport quickly and effectively with a diversity of populations;
Empathy and compassion for the experiences of others;
Ability to provide evidence of excellent university-level teaching and/or significant publications
