Under general supervision, provides a wide variety of moderately complex laboratory testing and technical lab support for a research facility.  Requires knowledge of the processes/procedures in testing, documenting experiments, maintaining laboratory notebook, analyzing data, and reporting using complex statistical computer software.


Please note, the Department of Pharmacology is looking to hire an individual as a Research Laboratory Technician I, II, or III.  One of the three positions will be filled depending upon qualifications of  final  candidate. 


Lab Tech I:  requires Associate degree in related field of science; Bachelor's degree in related science field preferred; 0-1 year research lab experience.

Lab Tech II:  requires Bachelor's degree in related field of science; 2-4 years research lab experience.

Lab Tech III:  requires Bachelor's degree in related field of science; 5+ years research lab experience. 


Please note, position is Grant Funded.

The schedule for this role is Monday-Friday; 8am-4:30pm; depending upon research needs position may require evening, weekend, and holiday work.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in related field of Science required;
2-4 year's research lab experience

 

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

Understanding of research methods, laboratory techniques, and care of laboratory equipment;

Ability to interpret data, troubleshoot and resolve technical issues;

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite to include Word, Excel; PowerPoint and Outlook;

Detail oriented;

Analytical skills;

Strong work ethic, excellent written and communication skills, and the ability to work independently;

Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays depending upon research needs

 

Physical Requirements:

Seeing: 75 – 100%

Hearing: 50 – 74%

Standing/Climbing/Mobility: 50 – 74%

Lifting/Pulling/Pushing: 25 – 49 % (pound: 15 lbs.)

Fingering/Grasping/Feeling: 75-100%

Travel: No

Exposure to Blood Borne pathogens: No
