Under general supervision, conducts a wide range of laboratory experiments and provides technical support for a research laboratory in the Department of Pharmacology and Neuroscience. The role requires knowledge of the processes/procedures in experimental testing, documenting experiments, maintaining laboratory notebook, analyzing data, and communicating findings.

Specifically, this position will investigate the role of glutamate receptor signaling in the brain. The lab mainly uses mouse models, behavioral assays, immunohistochemistry, and electrophysiology techniques to answer questions in neuroscience and pharmacology.

This position is grant funded.

This position will work Monday to Friday; 8am - 4:30pm. Depending upon research needs position may require evening, weekend, and holiday work.
 


 

Qualifications:
Associate's degree in related field of Science required;
Bachelor's Degree in related Science field preferred;
0-1 year's research lab experience

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
Understanding of research methods, laboratory techniques, and care of laboratory equipment;
Ability to interpret data, troubleshoot and resolve technical issues;
Ability to handle and care for small rodents;
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite to include Word, Excel; PowerPoint and Outlook;
Detail oriented;
Analytical skills;
Strong work ethic, excellent written and communication skills, and the ability to work independently;
Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays depending upon research needs
