Research Laboratory Technician I
Under general supervision, responsibilities will conduct routine laboratory experiments such as DNA cloning, DNA sequencing, tissue culture, protein purification, western blotting, PCR analysis, electrophoresis, fluorescence and confocal microscopy, using molecular, cellular and/or biochemistry techniques. In addition, conducting routine colony support and experimental testing on mice would be expected. In addition to carrying out research studies, this role will also include carrying out tasks related to general lab management, write standard operating procedures for documentation and make informal presentations of these procedures to others in the lab.
Research goals of the lab include understanding the molecular and cellular basis of aging and susceptibility to diseases including cancer and heart diseases. This is a full time, grant funded role.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree
- 1+ year's research lab experience, experience at Creighton a plus.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
- Organizational skills required.
- Analytical skills required.
