Reference & Instruction Librarian
Qualifications:
- Master of Library Science (MLS) from an ALA accredited program
- Minimum of 2 years related library experience in an academic library, 3-5 years’ experience preferred
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
Required knowledge, skills and abilities:
- Subject knowledge and demonstrated interest in one or more Humanities disciplines
- Knowledge of library instruction practices and ability to deliver effective and engaging instruction in-person and online
- Familiarity with a broad range of print and electronic research tools and databases
- Ability to offer research support in consultations with students and faculty
- Working knowledge of library technology tools and platforms (ex.: Canvas, Zoom, Panopto, Qualtrics, LibGuides, etc.)
- Knowledge of current trends in reference and instructional services
- Effective verbal and written communication
Desirable knowledge, skills and abilities:
- Fluency in a language other than English
- Secondary degree in a Humanities discipline
- Experience with academic library collection development
- Knowledge of developments in scholarly publishing
- Experience with RefWorks
