Qualifications:

  • Master of Library Science (MLS) from an ALA accredited program

  • 1-2 years related library experience; academic library experience preferred

Required knowledge, skills, and abilities:

  • Subject knowledge and demonstrated interest in one or more Health Science disciplines

  • Knowledge of library instruction practices and ability to deliver effective and engaging instruction in-person and online

  • Familiarity with a broad range of print and electronic research tools and databases

  • Ability to offer research support in consultations with students and faculty

  • Working knowledge of library technology tools and platforms (ex.: Canvas, Zoom, Panopto, Qualtrics, LibGuides, etc.)

  • Knowledge of current trends in reference and instructional services

  • Effective verbal and written communication

Desirable knowledge, skills, and abilities:

  • Experience working in a Health Science Library or research field

  • Secondary degree in a Health Science discipline

  • Experience with academic library collection development

  • Knowledge of developments in scholarly publishing

  • Experience with RefWorks

  • Experience with data services and research data (DSS Certification Level 1 Preferred)
