Radiology Technician II-Part Time; Osteoporosis

Operates and maintains x-ray equipment and takes x-rays of various portions of the body to assist radiologist in diagnosis of disease and injuries. Prepares patients for x-ray by administering drugs or chemical mixtures orally or intravenously.

This position will specifically support our Department of Osteoporosis. Final selected candidate will operate a Hologic bone densitometry machine and maintain the quality control of the equipment.

This position is partially grant funded.

This position will work part time; final part time hours will be determined with Final candidate and Primary Investigator; depending upon research needs position may require evening, weekend, and holiday work.

This position will also work out of CHI/Immanuel Hospital (6901 N 72nd St, Omaha, NE 68122) so may require additional compliance requirements as a non-CHI member.

Associates degree in Radiology Technology;
2-4 years’ related experience

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
Prior experience using a Hologic bone densitometry machine preferred;
Knowledge of medical procedures and terminology;
Ability to maintain confidentiality and HIPPA Compliance;
Ability to maintain records and files;
Strong work ethic, excellent written and verbal communication skills;
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite to include Word, Excel; PowerPoint and Outlook;
Strong customer service skills including the ability to assess inquiries and provide appropriate information using judgment and available resources;
Demonstrate ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team;

Required Licenses/Certifications:
Radiology Technician with state licensure, BLS certification within 90 days of hire

Lifting/Pulling/Pushing: 24-50% (pound: 25 lbs.)
Fingering/Grasping/Feeling: 75-100%
