Creighton University is currently seeing a Legal Secretary to support Faculty in the School of Law. This is a full time position (40 hours per week), working 10 months per year, with 2 months off in the summer.  This role is eligible for Creighton's benefits.

The Legal Secretary provides a broad range of highly confidential clerical and administrative duties for full time and adjunct faculty. Job responsibilities include the following: 

  • Draft, proofread, and mail/upload correspondence
  • Proofread documents, including textbook drafts and law school exams
  • Support faculty speakers, events, and guest lectures by making arrangements for travel, lecture room, and catering
  • Support law journals' symposiums
  • Track and process faculty requests for research assistance
  • Provide copies (or use Print Center to order copies) for faculty, research assistants and competition teams
  • Distribute adjunct faculty materials, collect and maintain their information on the web page, and distribute adjunct materials and parking passes
  • Maintain student attendance records
  • Post first assignments and other materials for classes on Blueline
  • Gather book information, create book list for posting on the website, and order books with the bookstore
  • Order textbook review copies and teacher manuals from publishers
  • Maintain exam files
  • Gather and post syllabi on Blueline

Bachelor's Degree required 
2+ years legal experience
Knowledge of legal terminology 
Knowledge of office practices and procedures 
Excellent verbal and written communication skills 
Interpersonal/human relations skills 
Ability to maintain records and files 
Ability to extract data from conversation and documents 
Ability to operate personal computer and various software
Ability to maintain high level of confidentiality
