Reporting into the Strategy, Planning and Architecture (SPA) Group, the IT Solutions Architect for Learning Environments/Technologies works collaboratively with the Center for Academic Innovation (CAI) and other University stakeholders to define the roadmap for the Learning Environments/Technologies.  As a senior technical advisor and a member of the University IT Architecture Review Board, s/he provides technical expertise, strategic planning and recommendations to the University, for new technologies, devices, applications and solutions in support of the MARIO Digital Strategy and the University’s needs.  Also, provides leadership, facilitates research and analysis necessary to select products and services that align with the architectural strategy.

This role will work with all stakeholders to provide architectural/product guidance as Creighton designs, plans and implements new programs such as the “Inter-Professional Education” program; additionally, this role will provide special focus on the future of Medical/Health Sciences Simulations, High-tech Multimedia Products, and Virtual/Augmented Reality in providing unique and differentiating student experiences and outcomes.

As a senior leader in IT, this role also provides an effective liaison between CAI and other University partners, vendors, stakeholders and all teams in the Division of IT.  Works closely with Mode 1 (Innovation, Research and Development) and Mode 3 (Operations support) to ensure that the technology implemented is providing the desired availability, value and experiences.


  • Master’s Degree in a related area and/or equivalent experience. 
  • Minimum of 8 years of applicable combined experience in one or more of the following:
    • Higher Education presentation and recording technologies
    • Digital Video Services Design and implementation
    • Multimedia Service Operations
  • Expert working knowledge of Creighton’s Academic operations preferred
  • Experience integrating classroom technologies with educational systems like Banner, Canvas, etc.

Experience negotiating contracts with multimedia vendors

Required Licenses/Certifications (One or more of the following):
Must currently hold or pass the ITIL Foundation Certification Exam within 6 months of start date
