School of Medicine’s Office of Medical Education, which provides curriculum support for medical degree program is currently searching for a instructional designer who works collaboratively with faculty, administrators, and staff to support faculty and staff use of the learning management system, lecture capture software, classroom polling software, and other academic technologies to support all learning experiences on the Omaha and Phoenix Regional Campuses. In consultation with faculty and staff members the designer will apply the appropriate blend of pedagogy and technology into course design and recommend appropriate learning tools to achieve course objectives based on education research and best practices. The designer will provide expert consultation on design alternatives and appropriately apply state-of-the-art instructional design models to courses. The designer will support faculty and staff development efforts based on sound pedagogic principles, work independently and as a member of a team, establish positive working relationships with a wide range of people within an academic community.

Qualifications:
MS or MA in Instructional Technology, Instructional Design, Educational Technology or Related field
2-4 years' related experience in academic learning environment.


Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
Demonstrated knowledge of recognized and contemporary best practices in instructional design for distance and hybrid education.
Prefer two (2) years of experience as an instructional designer preferably including experience working with distance courses or providing front-line support for faculty using a learning management system.
Demonstrated ability to identify and employ effective pedagogical techniques to achieve learning outcomes in the distance and hybrid learning environment.
Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver training to individuals and groups in person and virtually.
Exceptional English written and verbal communication skills, and interpersonal skills.
