Qualifications:

Master of Library Science (MLS) from an ALA accredited program

Minimum of five (5) years’ progressively responsible experience in academic libraries, experience in reference and instruction services preferred

Minimum of three (3) years’ supervision experience, experience supervising professional staff preferred

Required knowledge, skills, and abilities:

Demonstrated knowledge of information literacy instruction across multiple disciplines, including the health sciences

Advanced knowledge of academic library resources and skill in searching scholarly literature using bibliographic databases

Knowledge of scholarly publishing metrics and experience using tools to demonstrate research impact

Experience working within, coordinating, or leading a liaison librarian service model

Familiarity with current trends in the profession 

User centered orientation with a strong focus on meeting the needs of students, faculty, and researchers

Effective verbal and written communication

Collaboration, teamwork, effective human relations skills

 

Desired knowledge, skills, and abilities:

Familiarity with course management software, such as Canvas

Knowledge of or experience with systematic review services 

Familiarity with clinical library services

Desirable qualities:

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills 

High level of initiative

Results orientation 

Adaptability; innovative and creative thinking
