Global Program Coordinator
Creighton University in Omaha, NE is seeking to hire a Program Coordinator of Special Global Programs.
The Program Coordinator of Special Global Programs is an important position that supports the Creighton University mission to educate global citizens and provide an integrating vision of the world through a comprehensive education that prepares students to contribute to the betterment of society in an increasingly complex world.
Must be able and willing to engage in international and national travel. Occasional evening/weekend work required based on program scheduling.
Key Responsibilities
- Support travel needs and Omaha-based programming for Arrupe Global Scholars & Partnership Program.
- Coordinate logistics for all undergraduate Global Scholars students before their departure and upon return from their international study and immersion experiences including travel arrangements, room and board arrangements, pre-departure requirements, risk management program enrollment.
- Work in partnership with departments university-wide to support the recruitment, acceptance, advising and support of students participating in the Global Scholars Program, both current and potential program participants. Coordinate special programming, such as cross-cultural education events, study abroad fair, summer preview, admitted student days, International Education Week.
- Coordinate and/or co-lead travel experiences for Global Scholars Program such as retreats abroad and domestic, US-based travel, and international educational travel programs.
- Serve as liaison in the coordination of co-curricular international travel, athletic team international travel, and other similar initiatives.
- Implement Global Scholars Program alumni tracking and engagement post-graduation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in international education, global studies, student affairs, or related field. Master’s degree a plus.
- 5 years of experience working in a higher education setting, working with study abroad or extended off-campus programs.
- Previous experience studying or living abroad.
- Experience in Student Advising and Support related to study abroad, including pre-departure orientation and re-entry programs.
- Experience in Coordinating Logistics for international programs, including travel arrangements, housing, and visa requirements.
- Strong Communication Skills for effectively liaising with staff and partners in different locations.
- Preferred: Familiarity with NAFSA, Forum on Education Abroad, and other standards for international education.
