Global Program Advisor
Creighton University in Omaha, NE is seeking to hire a Global Programs Advisor.
Shares responsibility in the coordination, implementation and advising of study abroad programs including sending students to other countries through Creighton-In (affiliate), exchange, Faculty-Led, and non-affiliate program partners. The Global Programs Advisor is an important position that supports the Creighton University mission to educate global citizens and provide an integrating vision of the world through a comprehensive education that prepares students to contribute to the betterment of society in an increasingly complex world.
Must be able and willing to engage in international and national travel. Occasional evening/weekend work required based on program scheduling. Provides on-call support to travelers on a rotating basis.
Key Responsibilities
- Study Abroad Program Advising & Support (Recruitment, advising, processing, coordinating, and communicating with traditional students toward traditional, short-term study abroad programming)
- Oversee pre-departure and re-integration preparations for Creighton University-sponsored travel including: scheduling and hosting informational meetings and orientation meetings; tracking and processing of online applications and interview processes; delivering scheduled email communication with travelers; tracking and processing student documents and travel requirements; visa and immigration guidance; student support.
- Give presentations about programs and events, support student Peer Ambassadors, and attend on-campus events and event planning and facilitation.
- Administrative tasks to support programs, reviews transcripts, record checking, data reporting, and compliance.
- Bachelor’s degree in international education, global studies, student affairs, or related field. 1-2 years prior experience working in a higher education setting, working with study abroad or extended off-campus programs. Previous experience studying or living abroad. Preferred: Familiarity with NAFSA, Forum on Education Abroad, and other standards for international education.
- Effective computer skills (e-mail, web design, spreadsheets). Experience with higher education people management systems (Banner, Slate, Salesforce, Canva) preferred.
