The newly established Kingfisher Institute seeks a full-time Creighton faculty member to serve as inaugural director. Appointment to begin in January 2019. Profile, Qualifications, and Duties are listed below. Tenured faculty in all schools and colleges are encouraged to consider applying.

• Interests in curriculum and research.
• Demonstrated expertise and experience in interdisciplinary teaching and research.
• Administrative experience leading programs, faculty and staff.
• Demonstrated ability to lead new initiatives and to foster innovation.
• Talented networker, writer and communicator.
• Budget oversight experience preferred.
• Fundraising experience preferred.
• Must embrace, promote and articulate the University's Jesuit Catholic identity and to work effectively with faculty in a holistic manner with enthusiasm for providing services in the Ignatian tradition.
• Position will report to the Provost.

Duties and Responsibilities
• Implement vision for King Fisher Institute as articulated in Institute Proposal, reviewing and revising goals and tactics on a regular (yearly) basis.
• Establish Advisory Board and conduct quarterly meetings to help implement and assess vision and goals.
• With assistance from the Associate Director, establish and oversee all institute programming, including reading groups, seminars, and conferences.
• Solicit, review, and award faculty applications for Fellows (curriculum emphasis) and Scholars (research emphasis) programs.
• Set and apply clear standards and expectations for faculty involved in curricular or research projects related to the Institute’s goals.
• Oversee Institute budget.
• Collaborate with University Relations for fundraising activities, foundation and grant applications, donor solicitation and stewardship.
• With the assistance of the Associate Director, oversee and report regular outcomes assessment.
• With the assistance of the Associate Director, collaborate with UCOM to develop and implement marketing and communications plans to highlight Institute activities and accomplishments.
• Supervise Associate Director


A Doctorate or Master's degree from an accredited college or university;

2-4 years prior teaching experience;

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
Ability to foster student learning, development, and decision making in support of their goals, success, wellness, and needs;
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to develop rapport quickly and effectively with a diversity of populations;
Empathy and compassion for the experiences of others;
Ability to provide evidence of excellent university-level teaching and/or significant publications
