Essential Functions:
  • Process institutional data (collecting, cleaning, recoding, organizing, extracting, analyzing, and summarizing data) for internal use, external surveys (i.e., U.S. News and World Report, college guidebooks, rankings) and government and agency compliance reporting (e.g. CDS, IPEDS, NCAA).
  • Ensure the integrity and accuracy of regular and ad hoc reports and publications (i.e., Profile, Fact Book, and state/federal reports).
  • Establish standards and processes for documentation, presentation, and quality review of IR team deliverables by participating in the institutional data governance committee.
  • Respond to time-critical internal and external ad hoc requests for institutional information and analyses.
  • Conducts complex statistical analyses of data and prepare analytical reports and institutional dashboards using KPIs to interpret results and share findings.
  • Seek and validate data, including outside benchmarks or comparative data, to support or refute institutional decision-making processes.
  • Develop, administer, and manage surveys; prepare reports from internal surveys (i.e., climate surveys, alumni surveys, student surveys).
  • Oversee and manage the Institutional Research webpage/landing page.
  • Support grant development by assisting with writing and reporting, conducting research, and preparing and maintaining documentation.
  • Support the coordination and implementation of evaluation, accreditation and assessment activities.
  • Represent the Office of Institutional Research at regional and national meetings, conferences and workshops.
  • Collaborate on initiatives such as data governance and dashboard management. Serve on key institutional committees.
  • Supervise Senior Institutional Research analyst.
  • Conduct other duties as requested/assigned.
 
Qualifications:
  • Master’s Degree in quantitative social sciences, education research or related field; Doctoral degree with emphasis in research and evaluation preferred. 
  • Five or more years’ experience working in a higher education environment in a role requiring use and/production of university reports and statistics (i.e., applying complex statistical and research methods). 
  • Knowledge of and familiarity with higher education enterprise data systems and the ability to extract data and translate into useful academic reports. 
  • Advanced proficiency in SPSS and/or R, and Microsoft Office Suite (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • Experience with data visualization software (e.g. Power BI, Tableau), and National Clearinghouse services (i.e. Student tracker) a plus
  • Expert knowledge of research and design, including standard statistical procedures relating to sampling, correlation analysis, projections, instrument design, and qualitative measures applied to educational and social science research.
  • Demonstrated ability to use the Web to distribute data to end-users and work collaboratively across campus
  • Demonstrated ability to clearly organize and communicate complex research designs, analytic frameworks, and statistical results to diverse campus constituencies. 
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including a demonstrated ability to establish collaborative relationship.  Communicate effectively both orally and in writing.  Impeccable degree of confidentiality.
