This specific coordinator within the Department of Medical Education will support the day-to-day maintenance of the anatomy laboratories used for professional education of students and medical personnel and ensures that the lab is set up to offer a positive, effective learning experience. Responsibilities include care of human cadavers, the laboratories, teaching specimens, equipment, and supplies. This person will be expected to consistently interact and communicate with medical students, faculty and outside organizations dealing with cadaver acquisition and cremation.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, lifting, stooping, and crouching all day. The employee must frequently lift and move items up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.

This position will work Monday to Friday-8am-4:30pm; Please note position may require evening, weekend, and holiday work at times.


Qualifications:
Associate and/or Bachelor's Degree (Mortuary Science degree preferred);
4-6 years' administrative and/or office management experience;
Intermediate to advanced proficiency skills in MS Office Suite to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook;

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
Ability to work with human cadavers and working with donating families;
Strong empathy skills;
Ability to make administrative/procedural decisions and judgments;
Strong interpersonal and written communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community;
Ability to lead and train staff and/or students;
Knowledge of finance, accounting, and budgeting procedures;
Efficient and accurate record keeping skills; including ability to manage an electronic data base;
Maintain confidentiality and discretion when communicating with donor’s family members;
Ability to function effectively as a team member, while exercising independent and critical judgment;
Ability to self-initiate and coordinate/prioritize work with multiple and conflicting demands in a deadline-oriented environment;
Ability to work beyond normal business hours which hours which may include limited evening, holiday, and weekend work (when needed)
