Conference and Event Specialist
Creighton University in Omaha, NE is seeking to hire a Conference and Event Specialist for the division of Student Life.
Responsible for planning, coordinating, and implementing non-academic events (internal and external) that support the president’s office; academics ceremonial events on either the Omaha or Phoenix campus. Develop and strengthen partnerships within and across divisions and work collaboratively with students, employees, and community partners. Assist the Signature Events team with event execution by providing onsite event execution when needed.
Provides key support to the Summer at Creighton program, guides individuals and groups from the initial point of request throughout their stay to compiling appropriate charges upon departure. Go to for questions about summer housing availability and campus services. Wwill assist with direct sales, marketing, appointment calls, and tours of campus spaces for current and potential customers.
Full-time 12 months with some evening/weekend hours are required, dependent upon events. Will 40+ hours a week during critical times of year. Some travel may be required, less than 5%.
Key Responsibilities
- Meeting with clients to understand their event needs, budget, catering, AV, parking, marketing, etc. Helping with promotion of events to drive attendance. Track RSVPs and communicating with event attendees. Day of event logistics and troubleshooting.
- Work with finance to pay invoices and bill clients correctly. Support billing processes by review of invoices, tracking of appropriate billing, and reconciliation of budget lines.
- Support Summer at Creighton clients throughout the year, serving as a point of contact for clients, throughout initial request, contract negotiation, overseeing room bookings, program implementation, coordinating client needs with internal and external vendors such as card services, campus dining, housing staff, shuttle services, campus parking, and review upon completion.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications or event management required
- 3+ years of experience in events management
- Experience managing contracts and relationships with clients and external vendors preferred
- Ability to work with internal resources to troubleshoot logistics.
- Experience with StarRez or other housing/summer conference management system preferred
