This is a full-time, benefit eligible job working day hours, Monday-Friday schedules. May be asked to work on-call shifts to include weekends, holidays and after hours

The Carpenter II position will provide senior level Carpentry experience and work. Will complete work orders by performing rough and finish carpentry projects and repair University buildings and contents. Will work from blueprints, specifications, drawings, and instructions to design, build, remodel, retrofit, maintain and repair various types of facilities and structures. The Carpenter II will inspect completed work for conformance with specifications, requirements and compliance with applicable building safety codes and regulations; inspect related work by contractors; estimate cost, time and materials for carpentry projects
Qualifications:
Work requires an educational background normally equivalent to a high school education with shop work courses.
4-5 year’s years of progressively responsible carpentry experience; OR, Completion of a four year federally approved technical training program in carpentry AND one year of carpentry experience.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
-Must be able to climbing and work at heights of 20 feet and above (required)
-Basic computer proficiency/skills in order to process work orders
-Must be able to coordinate and complete work orders in a timely manner
-Must be able work independently
-Must have a demonstrated customer service focus
-Knowledge of the tools, equipment and materials common to the trade.
-Knowledge of all applicable codes standards and regulations.
-Strong communication skills (i.e. verbal and written).
Required Licenses/Certifications:
Will require a valid and current driver’s license for a minimum of 6 months, with a clean driving record for the last 3 years, and no major violations within the last 5 years..
