Carpenter I Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; Associates Degree in related trade/field preferred;
2-3 year’s work related years broad experience in carpentry to acquire knowledge of the methods and techniques of the carpentry trade; OR AN EQUIVALENT COMBINATION OF RELEVANT EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

Carpenter II Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; Associates Degree in related trade/field preferred;

4-5 year’s years of progressively responsible carpentry experience; OR, Completion of a four year federally approved technical training program in carpentry AND one year of carpentry experience.


Knowledge, Skills, Abilities for level I and II:
Basic computer proficiency/skills;
Must have a current driver's license with a clean driving record for the last 3 years and no major violations within the last 5 years;
Knowledge of shop practices and skill in using shop tools and equipment;
Ability to read blueprints and translate into fabricated products;
Knowledge of the tools, equipment and materials common to the trade;
Knowledge of all applicable code standards and regulations;
Locksmith and/or key experience desired (not required)

Strong communication skills (i.e. verbal and written);
Ability to self-start, work independently and complete work orders in a timely manner;
Strong customer service focus;
Knowledge and familiarity of safety standards and regulations;
Ability to see details at close range;
Ability to lift, push, pull or carry objects;
Ability to bend, stretch, twist, or reach with your body, arms, and/or legs;
Ability to work at heights of 20 feet and above (REQUIRED);
Ability to work outside in various temperatures (summer/winter) for extended periods of time;
Ability to be “on-call” on a rotational schedule

Required Licenses/Certifications:
Must have a current and valid driver's license with a clean driving record for the last 3 years and no major violations within the last 5 years
