Attending Veterinarian with Faculty Appointment
Qualifications:
Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine (DVM);
Active NE veterinary license or the capability of obtaining such
Board certification or board eligibility in the American College of Laboratory Animal Medicine;
2 years' experience in Laboratory Animal Medicine;
Experience with a wide variety of laboratory animals;
Knowledge of current USDA, PHS and AAALAC regulations;
Experience with animal surgical suite management including USDA and non-regulated animals;
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
Excellent written/verbal communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills;
Strong collaborative/teamwork ability to motivate, and inspire staff at all levels of the organization;
Ability to foster student and staff learning, development, and decision making in support of goals, success, wellness, and needs;
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to develop rapport quickly and effectively with a diversity of populations;
Empathy and compassion for the experiences of others;
Mission/Service and Results oriented;
Ability to provide evidence of excellent university-level teaching and/or significant publications;
Ability to work at times non-traditional business hours (i.e. weekends, evening, and/or holiday);
Ability to lift, push, pull or carry animals and/or objects;
Ability to bend, stretch, twist, or reach with your body, arms, and/or legs
