Qualifications:

Education: A Bachelor's degree is required. A Master's degree is preferred.

Experience: Three years of experience in an automated financial aid office is required.

Knowledge of Banner financial aid management system is preferred.

Prior supervisory experience is preferred.

Must have a thorough knowledge of federal regulations as they pertain to the programs administered by the office.

Skills:

  • Excellent communication skills are required.
  • Leadership, human resource management, problem solving, and public speaking skills are required, as are organizational and management skills.
  • Proficiency with computers and a highly automated financial aid management system is required.
  • The ability to develop knowledge of, respect for, and skills to engage with those of other cultures or backgrounds is required.

Essential Functions:

  • Administer all federal, state and institutional financial aid programs;
  • Ensures that the automated financial aid information system (Banner Financial Aid module) and student employment management systems are managed, set up, used efficiently and effectively;
  • Package student financial aid for prospective and continuing students (undergraduate, graduate, adult and online) from all sources based on eligibility and the availability of funds;
  • Demonstrate compliance for all pertinent financial aid audits;
  • Provide campus constituents with customer service support related to financial aid;
  • Create and execute financial literacy programs designed to help students manage student debt and prevent loan defaults;
  • Plan and direct the presentation and enforcement of policies and forms (i.e. Return of Title IV, Satisfactory Academic Progress Standards, Verification forms, etc.)
  • Attend training and professional development meetings as needed to stay abreast of regulations and changes.
