Creighton University, located in Omaha, NE is seeking to hire an Associate Director of Admissions to support the Chicago area.

 

This position is responsible for the recruitment of new undergraduate students to the university. This key role develops relationships with students and families, counselors, and community-based organizations. Reviews applications and scholarships for incoming students. Serve as a mentor to other staff members. Work independently and oversee additional projects outside of territory management.

This full-time position is based in Chicago, IL and will require traveling and working non-traditional hours. Independently manages team wide projects and mentors team members. 

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Initiate follow-up correspondence and phone contact with students and their parents via phone, e-mail, and written correspondence. Provide more specific information about CU programs, activities and events related to the student's individual interests.
  • Meet with students and parents for on-campus information sessions.  Maintain on-going communication with guidance counselors from high schools and assist other staff with those relationships.
  • Evaluate assigned geographic region to determine most effective methods of recruitment for the area.
  • Plan travel to assigned areas and attend college fairs: arrange high school visits for the purpose of meeting with prospective students and establishing effective working relationships with guidance counselors: host receptions in conjunction with alumni for prospective students; conduct interviews with prospective students.
  • Develop relationships with local area counselors, community-based organizations to be known and utilized as an expert for school panels and presentations.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelors’ Degree in related area
  • 5 years of related experience (admissions counseling/advising/marketing/sales experience)
  • Knowledge of higher education and admission policies and programs.
  • Supervisory/office management skills 
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
