Creighton University’s Education Department invites applications from highly motivated, successful, collaborative, and innovative candidates for an Assistant Professor tenure-track position in the School Counseling and Preventive Mental Health master’s degree program beginning August, 2021. The Education Department at Creighton is CAEP-accredited, Nebraska Department of Education approved, and its mission is to “empower teachers, administrators, and counselors to transform the lives of their students by preparing graduates to be compassionate and effective leaders in the Jesuit tradition.”  

Primary responsibility will be to teach graduate online courses in elementary and secondary school counseling employing the American School Counseling Association (ASCA) National Model. For this full-time, 11-month position, the teaching course load will be three (3) courses in the fall, three (3) courses in the spring, and one (1) course taught in the summer semester. The person who is hired will be expected to establish a research agenda focused on elementary and/or secondary school counseling-related issues, enhancing Creighton’s profile in this field at the national level. Lastly, this Assistant Professor will be expected to provide service to the University, the profession and local communities. Qualifications:
Terminal degree required, but candidates with a confirmed graduation date will be considered.
Evidence of excellent university-level teaching and expertise with School Counseling-related courses required.
Experience working with students, teachers and counselors required.
Experience in public elementary/secondary education settings required and Catholic education settings desirable.

Qualifications:
