The College of Nursing is seeking an appointment for a 12 month, full-time, faculty member with pediatric acute care expertise to fill a position in the College of Nursing’s BSN program. This position is for the College’s Omaha campus. The candidates must have experience in pediatric acute care medical-surgical. Flexibility to function in both an acute care and a community-based setting is preferred. Faculty responsibilities include classroom instruction in the undergraduate program, clinical and simulation teaching/supervision of undergraduate students in adult medical-surgical acute care settings, curriculum development, and academic advising. Other faculty responsibilities include those associated with service and scholarship commensurate with the College of Nursing and university expectations.

Candidates must possess at least a master’s degree in nursing and 2 years of clinical nursing experience. An earned doctorate or enrollment in a doctoral program is preferred. Ideally, the candidate will have experience in classroom and simulation instruction and clinical supervision. The candidate must have a current unencumbered licensure as an RN in the state of Nebraska, or eligibility for licensure. National certification and licensure as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse in an appropriate nurse practitioner field is required, if applicable.

Qualifications:
Master’s degree in nursing;
2 years clinical nursing experience;
An earned doctorate or enrollment in a doctoral program is preferred;
Experience in classroom and simulation instruction and clinical supervision;
Experience in pediatric acute care medical-surgical.
A current unencumbered RN licensure in the state of Nebraska, or eligibility for licensure;
National certification and licensure as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse in an appropriate nurse practitioner field is required, if applicable.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
Flexibility to function in both an acute care and a community based setting is preferred;
Prior teaching experience at the graduate level is preferred;
Excellent written/verbal communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills;
Strong collaborative/teamwork ability to motivate, and inspire staff at all levels of the organization;
Ability to foster student and staff learning, development, and decision making in support of goals, success, wellness, and needs;
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to develop rapport quickly and effectively with a diversity of populations;
Empathy and compassion for the experiences of others;
Mission/Service and Results oriented;
Ability to provide evidence of excellent university-level teaching and/or significant publications;
Ability to work at times non-traditional business hours when needed (i.e. weekends, evening, and/or holiday)

Required licenses and/or certifications:
A current unencumbered RN licensure in the state of Nebraska, or eligibility for licensure;
National certification and licensure as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse in an appropriate nurse practitioner field is required, if applicable
