The Department of Medical Education within Creighton University’s School of Medicine is seeking a 12-month, full-time, Assistant Professor-Anatomy faculty role. Responsibilities of the position include the team-teaching of anatomy to medical, physician assistant, graduate and other health profession students. 


Successful candidates will participate in lectures, labs, small-group interactive sessions and student assessments. The Department of Medical Education is a new department within Creighton University School of Medicine serving as an academic home to those whose careers are devoted to teaching. The major focus of the Department is excellence in teaching, however, scholarship is crucial to intellectual development in an academic community and faculty are expected to maintain scholarly activity which promotes the advancement of medical science or the intellectual development of others.

Qualifications:
Ph.D., or equivalent terminal degree (ABD candidates will be considered if PhD completed by the start of the 2019 academic year);
Experience teaching gross human anatomy is preferred;
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook

Ability to foster student and staff learning, development, and decision making in support of goals, success, wellness, and needs;
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to develop rapport quickly and effectively with a diversity of populations;
Empathy and compassion for the experiences of others;
Mission/Service and results oriented;
Ability to provide evidence of excellent university-level teaching and/or significant publications;
Ability to work at times non-traditional business hours when necessary (i.e. weekends, evening, and/or holiday)
