Creighton University College of Nursing is seeking an Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner to fill a full-time, 12-month faculty position in the College of Nursing’s graduate DNP program. While the DNP program is online, this position is for the College’s Omaha campus.


Candidates must possess an earned doctorate in nursing or closely related field from an accredited institution and national certification as an Adult Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner. The candidate must have a minimum of 3 years of experience as an Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner. A current unencumbered RN licensure and APRN in the state of Nebraska, or eligibility for licensure, is necessary. Prior teaching experience at the graduate level is preferred. The candidate should demonstrate the interpersonal skills necessary to work effectively with faculty, administrators, staff, and students to foster Creighton University’s mission.

Faculty responsibilities include classroom and practicum instruction and course management in the specialty area. The DNP program uses distance delivery methods. Responsibilities involve synchronous/asynchronous classroom instruction as well as face-to-face classroom/lab instruction. The faculty member will coordinate clinical site placement for student- preceptor experiences as well as oversee students in practicum. The faculty member collaborates with nursing, and other health science colleagues, in on-going curriculum development. The faculty assumes membership and chair responsibilities for doctoral students’ scholarly projects. Other faculty responsibilities include those associated with service and scholarship commensurate with the College of Nursing and university expectations.

Qualifications:

Ability to work at times non-traditional business hours when needed (i.e. weekends, evening, and/or holiday)

Required licenses and/or certifications:
A current unencumbered RN licensure and APRN in the state of Nebraska, or eligibility for licensure, is necessary;
