Reporting to the Associate Director in the Violence Intervention and Prevention Center, which is a part of the Office of Equity and Inclusion, the Assistant Director for Violence Intervention and Prevention focuses on advocacy, prevention and outreach.  This position works as a confidential advocate on campus and is responsible for outreach to the entire campus community.  This is achieved through the development and distribution of materials as well as concerted outreach to specific populations.  Programmatic responsibilities include facilitating education related to sexual misconduct, relationship misconduct, stalking and other forms of harassment and discrimination.  The Assistant Director is responsible for oversight of the Green Dot bystander intervention program at Creighton University.  Supervisory responsibilities will be with the desk receptionist team in the VIP Center.


Serve as a confidential advocate for students, faculty, and staff who have experienced first- or second-hand sexual violence, dating/domestic violence, stalking and related issues.  Advocacy includes support, safety planning, access to resources both on- and off-campus, and assistance in reporting incidents on- and off-campus.  Serve as a process navigator for individuals who report an incident to the university.  Participate in weekly case-review with the Associate Director to best support client needs.


Develop and implement prevention programming around issues of sexual harassment, sexual violence, dating violence, stalking, and related issues.  Coordinate ongoing education programs for campus including presentations, workshops, and events. Work with campus and community partners including other universities, the Women’s Center for Advancement, and the Women’s Fund to coordinate prevention efforts.


Coordinate the Green Dot bystander education program on campus, including trainings, presentations, marketing and management of Green Dot facilitators.  Schedule and implement multiple Green Dot trainings each semester for students, faculty, and staff.

Develop resources and materials for the VIP Center including website content, pamphlets, social media, poster campaigns, and other marketing materials. Evaluate prevention efforts on campus on a continuous basis.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, Education, Women’s and Gender Studies, Communications, or related field; ; Master’s preferred;

1-3 years of demonstrated success working in a complex academic environment.

Experience in developing and delivering educational programming to various audiences. 

Proficiency skills in MS Office Suite to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook

6 years of progressively more responsible management experience;

2+ supervisory years’ experience;


Required Licenses/Certifications: Requires certification as a Green Dot facilitator or ability and commitment to obtain certification within one year of hire.  Requires certification as a victim advocate in the state of Nebraska or the ability and commitment to obtain certification within one year of hire.

Strong collaborative/teamwork ability to motivate, and inspire staff at all levels of the organization;

Demonstrated experience with strategic thinking and planning;

Experience with budget planning, forecasting and fiscal management;

Demonstrated ability to develop and implement complex plans coordinated with multiple constituencies.

Ability to manage, supervise, and develop professional staff;
