Creighton University in Omaha, NE is seeking to hire an Assistant Director for the Department of Student Accessibility Services (SAS). 

 

Responsibilities

  • This role manages the Student Accessibility Services (SAS) Testing Center (TC), located on the Omaha campus and collaborates with the Phoenix campus. 
  • Responsible for coordination of accommodated tests, consultation with faculty and staff, and maintenance of a testing faculty with accessibility features and technology.
  • Serves as primary facilitator of accessible-formatted assessments and textbooks, audio notes and/or notetakers, and other auxiliary aid needs.
  • Manages the online software system for accommodation registration and scheduling, in addition to audio note online software and accessible book sharing platforms.
  • Reviews student documentation, conduct interactive meetings with students to determine appropriate accommodations, and consult with faculty, staff, students, and campus partners on implementation of accommodations, while maintaining confidentiality and upholding applicable laws, policies, and procedures.

 

 

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree required (preferably in education, counseling, or related field.)
  • Experience working in a coordinator or assistant director level administering comprehensive support programs.
  • Experience with a diverse population in a secondary, post-secondary, or professional level and/or working in a disability/accessibility accommodations environment at a post-secondary or secondary level.

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including experience making effective public presentations to a variety of audiences.
  • Knowledge and awareness of ADA laws, policies, and regulations, and how they impact higher education.
  • The ability to develop relationships with a wide variety of community constituents.
  • Experience gathering relevant data for reporting.
