This position works collaboratively with the Director and across all groups of IT and Library Services to understand the requirements, design constraints and success criteria for each service request and ensure the proper prioritization, planning and execution of solutions development. This includes the Data ETL Integration Services, Data Platform Management (Data Marts, Data Lake, Data Warehouse, and ERP transactional systems), API Management, Solution Development for all Student Faculty and Staff requests and mobile application development.
As with all leadership roles, this position is to provide thought leadership in ITIL and Agile methodologies and practice to develop and implement efficient and effective processes in the delivery of products and services that align with the University’s objectives.
In collaboration with their Director, this role is expected to provide leadership for software solution development practices, facilitate and coach team members in University Partner Relationship Management, and develop strategic plans that facilitate Student Experiences and Outcomes, support the University Capability and Capacity Strategic Planning, and anticipate and plan for potential Digital and University Capability Disruptions.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or related discipline and/or equivalent work experience required.
Masters’ degree preferred
Minimum of 5 years combined experience in one or more of the following:
Experience with open source development tools, current methodologies like agile development, source control and implementing quality assurance practices like code reviews.
Experience using multiple software development, wire framing, modeling, and defect tracking tools.
Hands-on development experience in JavaScript frameworks, SQL, HTML5, CSS, AJAX, PHP.
Experience developing an estimation process that improves capacity management and predictability.
Leading data centric teams to drive growth and improve performance of data services at an enterprise level.
Experience and deep understanding of Big Data technologies, DaaS, Analytics and Data Visualizations.
Strong experience with Data Quality, Data Governance, Master Data Management and Metadata Management.
Experience working with developers and engineers in a DevOps and Continuous Integration environment.
Experience delivering production-quality, highly available and scalable solution.
Supervisory or experience leading a team required.
Higher Education experience preferred
