The Assistant Director advises the CSU Program Board and all of its traditional events, such as concerts, Homecoming, Creighton in Common, Senior Week and other campus wide programs. The assistant director oversees efforts and the registration of 240+ student organizations (undergrad, grad and professional) as well as the training and communication with all organizations and their 240+ moderators. Additionally, the assistant director advises 3 student interns that assist with efforts such as the Skutt Shutdown and winter involvement fair, which serves over 1700 students annually, student organization data management, and late night programming. This position implements the Student Organization Review Committee (SORC). This person is responsible for training and managing student organization which includes processing over 3000+ forms annually. Additionally, this position is responsible for managing University policies, such as the travel policy for Clery Act compliance and controversial events. This person also works with voter registration education and programs, and is responsible for managing budgets, managing CU Involved (240+ student organizations resource tool), and evaluating student events. This person is responsible for coordinating and implementing late night programming efforts (alcohol and substance alternative programming).


Qualifications:
Master's degree in student affairs, higher education, counseling or other related field required.
An understanding of the value of holistic student development and of the motivations of students who participate in co-curricular learning experiences is required.
An understanding of and the ability to apply student development and learning outcomes theories is required.
The ability to sustain communication with diverse groups, anticipate problems, reconcile conflicts, and maintain a strong philosophical base for student activities. Excellent written and verbal communications are required.
Experience in student programming, advising student groups and/or leadership development is required.
National Association for Campus Activities (NACA) experience preferred.
One to two years of experience in student affairs required.
An appreciation of the Ignatian tradition required.
Night and weekend commitments are required.
