QUALIFICATIONS:

  • MD or DO degree Completed ACGME residency training, with current ABMS Board Certification.
  • Current State Medical Licensure and eligible for Arizona Medical Board Licensure.
  • Minimum 3-5 years’ previous experience in GME administration, preferably as Program Director in accredited training program.
  • Current or previous academic appointment at Associate Professor level.
  • The ability to collaborate and build relationships with important stakeholders in GME, including, but not limited to other academic systems, clinical partners, and members of the School.
  • Strong Communication skills with the ability to communicate ideas honestly and clearly and respect the views and opinions of others on the team.  Must be able to be a clear, effective communicator who can communicate in a constructive and respectful way. 
  • The ability to adapt to change and drive positive change for the good of the residents and fellows.
  • Excitement at working in new academic and educational areas outside of previous experience in collaboration with subject matter experts in the various disciplines.
  • A creative and innovative approach to education, tempered by the willingness to continually assess the efficacy of such approaches.
