Essential Functions:

Assists head coach in planning and running team practices; assists in teaching offensive and defensive concepts to student-athletes; oversees drills and skill instruction of student-athletes; provides group and one-on-one instruction to student-athletes; assists in film review and opponent scouting with the team; assist with player development, both personally and athletically.

Performs recruiting related activities: contacts prospective student-athletes through written or verbal means of communication; travels to various high school and club competitions to evaluate talent; evaluates the skills and abilities of prospective student-athletes; views and assesses high school game films, and provides feedback to head coach.

Maintains team itineraries and schedules for travel; makes travel arrangements for the team and coaching staff for games played at other institutions; makes reservations for hotel accommodations; provides information to visiting coaches.

Engages with donors, fans and the community on behalf of the athletic program.

Assists in the implementation of the academic program, including the monitoring of individual students progress to ensure academic success. 

Monitors the conditioning and training of student-athletes in conjunction with the strength and conditioning staff.


Qualifications:

Bachelors' Degree in related area.

2-4 year's related experience.

Knowledge of a specific sport's concepts/strategies and NCAA rules and regulations.

Knowledge of physical conditioning techniques and weight training.

Knowledge of basic statistics.

Recruiting skills.

Verbal and written communication skills.

Interpersonal/human relations skills.

Organizational/planning skills.

Leadership and motivational skills.

Ability to assess athletic talent.

Ability to serve as a positive role model.
