Faculty Position in Medicinal Chemistry

Creighton University, a Midwest comprehensive Catholic, Jesuit University, has routinely been ranked #1 among Midwestern universities for the past four years.   The Department of Pharmacy Sciences invites applications for a full-time 12-month tenure track faculty position at the rank of assistant/associate professor in Medicinal Chemistry/Pharmaceutical Chemistry.


Responsibilities of the position include instruction in the campus, Phoenix and distance Doctor of Pharmacy pathways, the development of and participation in graduate education, the establishment of a basic or applied research laboratory, and service in accordance with the mission of the institution. 


All faculty members will be expected to teach didactic lectures, maintain a program of basic or applied research, disseminate scholarly work, advise PharmD and graduate students, and participate on School and University committees.  Salary is competitive and commensurate with qualification and experience with an attractive benefit package.




  • A Ph.D. degree in Medicinal Chemistry is required. 
  • Faculty with a strong interest in, and experience with web-based education are especially encouraged to apply. 
  • Successful candidate must have a terminal doctorate degree and will be expected to develop a strong externally funded research program in their discipline. 
  • Preference will be given to candidates who have a pharmacy background, those with two to four years of experience in academic pharmacy or holding equivalent post-doctoral experiences.
