The Systems Analyst provides direct oversight of all reporting and database systems related to Graduate Medical Education (GME). Develops, customizes, maintains and administers multiple databases for the GME Office. Trains program coordinators and ensures accurate data input into the GME systems. Collaborates with program leadership members to meet GME regulatory and accreditation reporting requirements utilizing appropriate system applications. Partners with various departments and coordinates initiatives to bring consistency across programs as it relates to program administration and regulatory reporting processes.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
  1. Manage all operational aspects of the New Innovations database and medical education related data systems.
  2. Serves as an expert resource for New Innovations system providing training to residents, fellows, coordinators and faculty. Creates tutorials/manuals and conducts database workshops for GME program personnel. Provide training sessions and assist staff in use of data collection systems.
  3. Designs common database protocols for GME administration for conferences, evaluations, milestone reporting and other required program activities.
  4. Assists in the development and implementation of New Innovations educational efforts for all program coordinators.  Organizes training sessions for New Innovations on a local level; leads education workshops for program and GME staff.
  5. Works closely with Alliance Accreditation Specialist to ensure accuracy and integrity of trainee, program and institutional data in New Innovations.
  6. Prepares required data for the annual CHGME, IRIS, CMS and HRSA reports and audits.
  7. Works with the GME Manager, DIO, and Residency Program Directors to provide required data to the Accreditation Council of Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) including but not limited to the Annual Institutional Report, Program Evaluation Committee and Clinical Competency Committee.
  8. Prepares monthly, semi-annual and annual reports required for graduate medical education programs.
  9. Collects and analyzes data and performs process improvement opportunities. Participates on or leads initiatives to design and implement recommendations, including areas such as regulatory compliance, reporting data collection and quality improvement.
  10. Participates is the residency recruitment process, intern orientation and graduation.
  11. Partners with Institutional Coordinator(s) on development of annual checklists in New Innovations for each trainee (onboarding, reappointment, graduates, etc.).
  12. Provides administrative support to the GME Manager and DIO. Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of training and progressively responsible experience.
Five years’ experience in database or system management, New Innovations experience strongly preferred.
  
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
Demonstrated data analysis ability.
Working knowledge of software applications including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
