The Accreditation Specialist for the Arizona Health Education Alliance serves as an expert consultant for Program Directors and Program Coordinators in their efforts to ensure the institution and programs meet accreditation standards as well as hospital policies/requirements. Oversight includes monitoring the daily activities of the organization’s graduate medical education programs including the regular assessment of the quality of the GME programs through creating reports and data collection, the performance of residents through tracking procedures and trainee compliance with internal and external training requirements. The Accreditation Specialist plays an integral role in the continuous monitoring and improvement of sponsoring institution and program quality.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

 
  • Strong, up-to-date knowledge of ACGME accreditation requirements for Alliance GME Programs.
  • Provides administrative support to Alliance GME programs in facilitating the coordination and monitoring of CLER visits, Annual Institutional Reviews, Annual Program Reviews and Annual Program updates through WebADS. 
  • Works closely with GME staff to ensure accuracy and integrity of trainee, program, and institutional data in WebADS and New Innovations.
  • Assist the Program Coordinators and Program Directors in the preparation of accreditation related documentation for GMEC and ACGME as needed.
  • Leads the preparation of self-study visits, new program applications, resident and faculty surveys, internal and special reviews as well as Annual Program Reviews.
  • Maintains knowledge of rules, regulations, policies, administrative guidelines and legal issues that impact or govern the Alliance GME programs and ensures that Creighton University and AZ training sites comply. Supports program coordinators in meeting accreditation and hospital standards and ensuring compliance with all policies.
  • Facilitates coordination and monitoring of CLER and Program Specific Site visits.
  • Develops tools to support program personnel in the management of GME Programs in current accreditation system and program milestones.
  • Works with data analyst for NI reports, evaluations, creation of dashboards for accreditation requirements and implementation of GME/program scorecards for compliance reporting
  • Facilitates standardization of processes and monitoring across all programs
  • Prepares and analyzes reports for GME Committee and DIO/ADIO on a monthly basis
  • Review and oversight of ACGME/accreditation reports including the Annual Institutional Report, WebADS updates and Annual Program Evaluations.
  • Along with counterpart in Omaha, assists with data compilation and preparation of the Annual Institutional Report (AIR) and ACGME annual update for the sponsoring institution.
  • Tracks ACGME and NRMP correspondence. Facilitates the NRMP match activation and approval process. Serves as the liaison between the Alliance GME Office and the Omaha GME Office, ACGME, AMBS, FREIDA, NRMP, ensuring each program meets deadlines and provides correct information.
  • Ensures program compliance with various ACGME reporting requirements, including housestaff survey, annual update, etc.
  • Works closely with Alliance Contract Coordinator to maintain appropriate Affiliation and Program Letters of Agreements.

Qualifications:
Bachelors’ Degree
Two to five years’ experience in teaching, directing, management or administration of an ACGME accredited residency program or teaching hospital setting required.
  
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
Demonstrated ability to be a self-starter and have ability to work in multidisciplinary teams.
Strong project management skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to develop strong collaborative relationships.
Exhibit strong customer service skills working with both internal and external customers.
Proficient with Microsoft Office.
