Application Administrator
The Application Administrator provides technical expertise to deliver the essential functions for the administration, enablement and support of Creighton’s applications and related tools. This role acts as the primary interface between campus operational units and the technical applications which support their activities. Individuals successful in this role will have the technical acumen to configure, troubleshoot, and advise on university operating systems as well as the ability to illicit partner needs through relationship building and in-depth knowledge of operational units they support. Additionally, this position will frequently collaborate with multiple units including data, network and platform teams, project management, and external vendors.
Key Responsibilities
Develop documentation and training material, as needed, for application support which could include process flow diagrams, business requirements, knowledge articles, and dev/ops material
Follow change management standards for security and production environment updates/edits
Provide quality assurance on the applications so they meet required standards as well as provide quality control for applications to identify errors
Coordinate and proactively engage application owners relative to application performance and enablement
Provide subject matter expertise to operational owners' relative applications as appropriate
Be the technical point of contact for day-to-day application performance matters
Demonstrate active membership in internal/external organizations like the Association of Jesuit Colleges and Universities (AJCU)
Provide effective communication on matters relating to the job description
Remains current in the field of expertise to ensure assigned applications remain at the industry forefront.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in related area or equivalent experience, preferred
Three (3) years of experience in application support, help desk, business analysis or deskside support, network support, preferably in a higher education setting
Licenses / Certifications
A+ Certification or equivalent, preferred
Network+ or equivalent, preferred
Certified Cloud Security Professional or equivalent, preferred
Domain-specific certifications, preferred
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Technically proficient in role-based access permissions, patch/upgrade management, software testing, license key management, requirement elicitation, application configuration, data/field mapping and quality assurance.
Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as a collaborative team member with other departments.
Thrive in a fast-paced goal-oriented environment.
History of creative problem-solving.
Successful history of combining functional use cases with technology resources to accomplish goals
Adhere to established performance standards.
Coachable and open to feedback
Knowledge of customer service standards and procedures.
