QUALIFICATIONS
 
Education
 
  • Clinically relevant degree in the health sciences required (pharmacy, occupational therapy or physical therapy preferred).
  • Doctoral degree required, academic doctorate preferred.
 
Experience
 

Established record as a health sciences educator, practitioner, scholar and leader. Minimum of five years of academic experience. Qualified by merit or equivalent experience for the rank of professor.

 
  • Academic Educator: established record of educating health sciences students (pharmacy, OT or PT preferred).
  • Clinical Practice: experience with or broad understanding
  • of complex issues of pharmacy, OT and PT practice in today’s health care environment, with a vision for future practice.
  • Research/Scholarship: established record of research and scholarly achievement at a national/international level.
  • Service: ability to support and foster community engagement within the University, community and the health sciences.
  • Academic Administrator: proven ability to manage a complex academic enterprise, typically obtained through experience as a dean, associate dean, assistant dean, department chair, or center or institute director within a college of pharmacy, occupational therapy or physical therapy. Prior administrative experience incorporating strategic and operational planning, preparation and management of a budget, personnel organization and management, and academic educational or health-system alliances. Track record of recruiting and retaining outstanding faculty and staff.
  • Diversity and Inclusion: experience in leading, overseeing or contributing to diversity and inclusion efforts in a previous position.
  • Global Engagement: equipped to continue the school’s work in recruiting and supporting faculty and students from global backgrounds, as well as through community engagement.
